KPRVERSE — Scroll Narrative

Scroll NarrativeVisit sitekprverse.com

A comic told by scrolling. Each beat is a full-bleed illustrated scene inside a mask that changes shape as you move, so the frame itself is part of the storytelling rather than a fixed window.

Design notes
Mood
Cinematic worldbuilding — a graphic novel that advances when you scroll. Confident and self-serious, with no explanatory copy at all between beats.
Colors
Each beat commits to one dominant hue and switches hard at the boundary — deep violet, then paper white, then desaturated sepia, then flat lavender. The jumps are the pacing; nothing carries over except the crosshair.
Type
Heavy condensed uppercase sans at ~64px for the beat statements, set in a stepped stack where each line is offset horizontally. Body copy is tiny, ~11px, and stays out of the way in the corners.
Layout
Full-bleed illustrated scenes clipped by a mask whose shape changes per beat — a full rectangle, then a card with a folded corner, then an irregular polygon. A persistent crosshair marker sits at the left edge across every beat as the one fixed point.
Motion
Scroll drives three things at once: the artwork parallaxes inside its frame, the mask shape morphs between beats, and the background colour cross-fades. Because they resolve at different rates the transitions overlap rather than snapping.
Texture
Painted digital illustration — visible brushwork, cel-shaded characters, atmospheric depth haze. No photography and no 3D render anywhere.
Imagery
This one is illustration-led, not render-led, and that is the cheaper path to the same effect. Commission or generate 6-8 full-bleed key frames in one consistent character and colour treatment, then animate the MASK and the parallax rather than the artwork. Tool: kie-ai or nanobanana for the key frames, held to a single style prompt across all of them; masks and parallax in CSS clip-path plus GSAP ScrollTrigger.
Don't
Don't hold the mask shape constant and just swap the image inside it. The changing frame is what stops this reading as a slideshow, and it is the cheapest part to build.
